OUR PHILOSOPHY
Business

The Ivorian Diaspora Business Network (RAID) supports entrepreneurial projects led by local and diaspora talent, playing a role as a trusted third party between project leaders, investors and partners.

We work on projects of manageable size, with strong local added value, focusing on structuring, governance and long-term monitoring.

OUR CRITERIA

The projects supported by RAID meet specific criteria:

  • Priority sectors: agriculture, agri-food industries, business services, personal services, health, refrigerated transport.

  • Project size: total cost excluding tax between 1,000,000 and 15,000,000 FCFA.

  • Implementation timeframe: 1 to 6 months.

  • Target profitability: 10% to 20%.

  • Sustainability: activity designed to last at least 24 months.

  • Logistics: equipment and resources available locally, at a cost of less than 60% of the project.

  • Location: location consistent with the activity and the target clientele.

These criteria are integrated into a scoring grid which allows each project to be objectively evaluated before any approval decision is made.

OUR SUPPORT
Business

The RAID support takes place in three key stages:

  1. Project scoping

    • Initial meeting with the project sponsor, analysis of documents (business plan, budget, schedule) and definition of performance indicators (KPIs).

  2. Regular monitoring

    • Periodic meetings (monthly or quarterly), progress reports, strategic advice and adjustments as needed, with reporting to the Board of Directors.

  3. Decision and closure

    • Support for major decisions (continuation, pivot, consolidation), final assessment and capitalization of lessons learned for subsequent projects.

RAID does not promise automatic funding, but structured support to better prepare projects to meet with internal investors and partners.

OUR DNA

RAID's differentiating values

  • Structured governance:

    • Formalized selection and monitoring process (scoring grid, monitoring phases, report to the Board of Directors), with a clear separation of roles between committee, Board of Directors and selection commissions.

  • Diaspora approach:

    • Understanding the expectations of diaspora members and local realities, ability to create bridges of trust between the two.

  • Focus on realistic tickets:

    • Projects in the range of 1,000,000 to 15,000,000 FCFA, adapted to investors who are members of the Network (joint projects).

    • In the medium and long term, we aim to establish a high-capitalization investment fund for large-scale projects.

  • Results-oriented support:

    • Defining KPIs from the outset, regular monitoring, strategic advice and capitalizing on experiences.

  • Culture of transparency:

    • Traceability of decisions, formalization of observations and recommendations in grids and reports.

  • An experienced management team:

  • A project team mainly composed of members of the diaspora who have returned to Ivory Coast.
